44th Annual Baldwin Track & Field Invitational Sponsored by Pro Bike & Run / Brooks Sports
The 44th Annual Baldwin Track & Field Invitational will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017. This event is sponsored by Pro Bike & Run / Brooks Sports. The Invitational provides the opportunity for some of the best high school track & field athletes to compete. Approximately 2,000 athletes from over 90 different school districts will come to compete at Baldwin. The top eight finishers in each event will be awarded “Olympic-Style” medals. Team trophies will be awarded to the top men’s and women’s teams earning the highest point total and trophies awarded to the schools with the largest combined men’s and women’s team scores. These awards will be presented to both AAA and AA schools. Additionally, trophies will be presented to the outstanding male and female athletes. Special plaques will be presented to the first place finishers in the Men’s and Women’s High Hurdles, 400 Meters, 800 Meters, 3200 Meters and the Discus. Again, this year one of the highlights of the meet is the McKinney Mile honoring Chuck McKinney, the founder of the Baldwin Invitational.
Two national record holders will be competing at the Invitational – Jordan Geist (Knoch High School) in the Shot Put and Madison Wiltrout (Connellsville High School) in the Javelin.
The Coaches’ Meeting will begin at 12:00 p.m. Trials for Men’s and Women’s competition will begin at 12:30 p.m. Finals will begin at 6:15 p.m. and continue under the lights.
